He was the embodiment of all her dreams.
He had the kind of sexy dark Italian good looks that women dreamed of. Nick Jones was seldom lacking for female company or companionship. He had an exciting job and his life was full. It was just his past that haunted him. There were years he couldn’t remember and he had successfully put them behind him. He was a Drug Enforcement Agent who was presently searching for his missing partner. There was nothing or no one who could scare him. No one that is, except her! Alexandra Hanover. She was too freaky for words and Nick avoided her like the proverbial plague. Why then, did she have to be the one to save his life? Why then did he want her so badly despite how strange she was?
She was the one with the weird mystical powers.
Alex knew that Nick Jones was the other half of her heart. The only problem was he wouldn’t have a thing to do with her. He couldn’t even stand the sight of her. It was so bad that if he even saw her he immediately put as much distance between them as was humanly possible. She couldn’t help the gift she’d had since birth. How could she get him to see her as just a woman; an ordinary woman with some extraordinary senses. Past, present and future were about to collide for Nick Jones. Alex intended to see him through every bit of it, whether he liked it or not, because his future was her future too. |

Preview: There was a nearly silent groan as he pulled her close in to his arms and he held her, just held her while his heart beat thunderously under her ear. "I wish there were things that were different." "I know." She whispered. "I wish I could change them for you but I can't." She could feel his struggle and his resignation at the same time. "If I knew how to make it stop...make these things that are different about me go away I would do it in a heart beat." She assured him. Alex felt the heat of his body and hardness coming in to it. Holding her aroused him, and Alex thrilled in his response. She pressed herself against him even tighter. The longing in her heart for this man was overwhelming. She wanted every part of him, his humor, his heart, his love, his soul, and yet she knew he did not give these things lightly. His heart had never been given; it laid in his chest a virgin with an iron band of control around it. More than anything Nick Jones had always protected his heart, and Alex knew this even better than the man did himself. He would find her gift so hard to deal with, her unconditional love even harder. His hands began to stroke up her back and down again in a comforting fashion. He was attempting to settle her, calm her as a man would a skittish animal. It was very practiced, very Nick. She knew instinctively he was using his 'Romeo' moves on her the ones he protected his real feelings with, the ones he'd used on countless women. |
