PREVIEW OF WHEN THE PAST COMES TO CALL Cole tapped Gina on the shoulder just as she made it to the end of the hall. She squealed and jumped. “Just where do you think you are going?” She groaned. “You really did hear me.” “Hand me the bobby pin.” He stuck out his hand. She could barely make him out in the darkened hallway. “But it took me half an hour to pick that lock.” She protested but gave him the bobby pin anyway. “Forty four minutes.” He corrected. “Now can we get some sleep?” He took her arm and led her back to Babs room. Gina sat down on the bed. “Scoot over.” He told her. “What for?” Cole took her arm and moved her over before cuffing her to the headboard again. “Hey.” She protested. “Scoot over.” He commanded again. She did. “Further.” Then he sat down on the edge of the bed and took off his shoes. “You aren’t sleeping here.” “Yes I am.” He dropped his shoes noisily on the floor and stretched out next to her. He was still fully dressed. “You should have thought of that before you interrupted my sleep. I warned you.” “Oh no you aren’t.” She tried shoving on him. It did absolutely no good. “Cole you can’t sleep here.” “Why not? Do you snore?” “I don’t snore.” She was indignant. “Wet the bed?” She shoved on him in response. “Go to sleep Gina. I am really tired.” “This isn’t right. How am I supposed to sleep with you here?” “Would you rather do something else?” He turned towards her. “L…like what?” “You were the one getting ideas earlier.” “Oh you heard me.” She whispered. “Go to sleep Gina.” He sighed tiredly. “I am just teasing you. Your virtue is safe.” “But is yours?” Gina whispered minutes later when she thought he was fast asleep. She studied his face in the near darkness. He had a strong wide face. There was a slight bump on his nose where it had been broken in the past, probably playing football. His lips were full bodied and just plain sexy looking for a man. She sighed. She loved blonde headed men She jumped when he spoke. “Are you going to sleep or are you going to stare at me all night.” Gina turned over facing away from him. “I wasn’t staring.” “Ah huh.” |
